Why isn't Live on £ess free like some other websites and e-zines? ......

If we didn't charge a small subscription for Live on Less, we'd have to pay for all our time and effort (we have to make a living too!) by having lots of advertising. That also means lots of annoying pop-ups. But more importantly, it would compromise our impartiality - we'd no longer be independent, unbiased, and able to offer you the best advice. We do not - like most mainstream media - want to end up in the pocket of Government, or corporate paymasters with big advertising budgets. We actually want - on your behalf - to be mavericks, radical, and different from the mainstream. We want the freedom to be able to tell it as we see it.

Unlike most sites you'll find on the net, we also believe in being totally transparent. If we ever recommend a product or service, and receive any commission or payment for a "click through" we'll indicate as much. However, since it's unheard of for any one supplier to have all the best products in any one field, rest assured we will only make recommendations on a product by product basis - having tested the offering - we will never, ever give blanket recommendations for any one company.

Most importantly we will never, ever, allow our opinions to be swayed by the small amounts of commission from vendors out there. Again, this is why we ask you to pay a small subscription to the site.
